This device can plug into the VS001's effects loop inserts and allow for independent fading to black of the Red, Green, and Blue colour components of a VGA line. Each channel also has a switch to allow for the blurring of one colour thanks to some very simple low-pass filters.
The clear green plastic case presumably had it's former life as some kind of pump.
